Thesis Statement
Mahatma Gandhi inspired thousands by peacefully but actively protesting against the British ruling and the religious concept of untouchability in India. By leading over six-thousand people in the famous Salt March in 1941 and refusing to stand down regardless of the many forces that went against him, Gandhi not only accomplished his goal of eventually freeing India from British colonialism, but also set a new concept for revolutions that had not succeeded in the past; a concept not of bloodshed, but of rebellious peace. This concept is Gandhi’s forever-living legacy.
